Chloe Zelkha, our North Shore FoodCorps Service Member, coordinates the Academic Internship Program in Lynn and Beverly. In this role, she supports the North Shore interns' development as teachers and facilitators in food justice curricula, as well as in food system advocacy in their schools and communities. A Bay Area native, Chloe first fell in love with sustainable agriculture and youth empowerment during a high school semester learning and farming nearby at the Mountain School in Vershire, Vermont. She then attended Carleton College in Minnesota, where she earned a BA in Religion and Gender Studies, and organized around food sovereignty and sexual violence prevention campaigns. She is passionate about popular education, and has developed and facilitated social justice, anti-oppression, and sex ed curricula for diverse audiences, including middle school youth, college students, and prison inmates. Outside of work, she loves to sing, backpack, embarrass herself on the dance floor, and live cooperatively.

The Food Project is a 501(c)(3) non-profit.
