The Food Project Toolbox

Ever wonder how The Food Project does all the cool things it does?  Many people do.  In response, we've written a wide variety of curriculums that are now available to you for free!  We have books, manuals, and activities available on our website so you can adapt The Food Project’s methods to your own organization. You can also buy print copies of some manuals, as well as CDs and videos.

Books

Based on nearly a decade of experience in running our youth programs, our books Growing Together and French Fries and the Food System are a compilation of our very best activities that introduce young people to food systems and social issues.

Manuals

Step-by-step guides to recreating elements of The Food Project model for your organization. Detailed instructions complete with timeline, activities, forms and letters all included. These are available as free PDFs, or some may be purchased for the same price as the cost to print and bind the manual at your local copy store. Includes our Summer Youth Program Manual, Academic Year Program Manual, Volunteer Manual, Farmers Market Manual, Urban Agriculture Manual, and Rural Agriculture Manual.

Activities

A follow-up to Growing Together and to French Fries, a compilation of our most popular activities available to you for free! Includes activities with any group, and interactive lesson plans on food systems, sustainable agriculture, hunger and homelessness.

Curriculum

Material from our summer youth program's sustainable agriculture workshops are now available online.
