The Metro Boston Box Share is Full for 2010.
Every week from June to the end of October, CSA Box Share members go to their pick-up site on Tuesday in Cambridge, Arlington, or Somerville, or Thursday in Jamaica Plain (there's also a second JP pickup) to receive a variety of fresh, local, sustainably grown vegetables. Shareholders receive 4-18 lbs of produce each week. The amount increases as the summer harvest gets into full swing.

Distribution begins in early June and continues through the end of October.
Where are the pick-up sites?
We have established 5 pickup sites; in Arlington, Cambridge, Somerville and Jamaica Plain (2 sites).
When can I pick up my food?
The boxes will be available for pickup in Arlington, Cambridge, and Somerville on Tuesdays from 4-8pm, and in Jamaica Plain on Thursdays from 4-8pm.
What do I do if I am on vacation?
Share your share! CSA members can have a guest pick up their food. Just let your host know that you will be sending someone else.
What do I get each week?
We offer a variety of crops throughout the growing season. Each week you will receive an email newsletter which includes farm news and food preparation tips.
Is the produce organic?
The Food Project uses 100% organic methods to grow its food, however our land has not been certified as organic. A big reason is that we are in constant communication both by word of mouth and in newsletters about what we are doing on the land. The foundation of a CSA model is a relationship of trust between the growers and the consumers--knowing your land and your farmer is much more reliable than having a label on your vegetables.
Are there any other benefits to being a member of The Food Project's CSA?
As a member of our CSA Box Share, you will not only enjoy five months of fresh, local produce, but you will also be part of The Food Project community. You will receive The Food Project's newsletter, and invitations to other Food Project events. You will also be able to volunteer on the land in the fall and spring.
How do I sign up?
We now full for the 2010 season. If you would like be put on our waiting list, please call 781-259-8621 x21.
