The Summer Youth Program Finale

On Wednesday, August 14, the O'Farmers and Podemos pods  the Summer Youth Program youth workers based out of the Greater Boston Area farms  wrapped up a summer of work, fun, and personal change with the Family Feast. Families descended on the Baker Ridge Farm in Lincoln, carrying plates and trays of home-cooked food, representing a wide diversity of cuisines. Family, youth, and TFP staff enjoyed a program of skits, games, and funny impersonations of TFP farmers before a lineup of reflective speeches by six youth. The first up was 16-year-old Guarav Dangol from Arlington. In a finale to the end of his first summer with TFP, he delivered one of the best quotes of the night, earning quite a few snaps of agreement from his peers: "The Food Project is everything school should be, but isn't!"

Please forgive the shaky hand — it was a beautiful but chilly evening as the sun started to set — and listen to the words!
