Executive Director J. Harrison joins Jenny Johnson on Newsmakers

Executive Director J. Harrison joins Jenny Johnson on Newsmakers to talk about The Food Project. J. opens the interview by describing how the idea for The Food Project—bringing together young people across difference to grow healthy food—developed out of friendship. He shares the transformational power of our work with youth and concludes by emphasizing that because healthy food helps us to be our best selves, we need to invest in building a sustainable food system so we can create access to healthy food for all.

Newsmakers is  a public affairs news program produced by Comcast featuring business and nonprofit leaders talking about current issues.

Enjoying a CSA from the Lincoln farm

Hunter Gates and his family, Shara and Oren, have enjoyed fresh produce from The Food Project for over a decade. We asked him to share why they enjoy coming out to the Baker Bridge farm in Lincoln to pick up their CSA farm share each week.

“I think that we first purchased a CSA share from The Food Project in 2006, although we had been enjoying the bounty since 2003 because a friend worked there. Farmers, Fables & Feasts a huge success

On Wednesday May 6, The Food Project hosted its annual benefit Farmers, Fables & Feasts at the Artists for Humanity EpiCenter. The event, which raised over $250,000, brought together a room full of supporters, youth and staff for an exciting evening of delicious food, inspiring stories from The Food Project’s Root Crew youth Julia and Gaurav, and a lively auction with Billy Costa, host of NESN's Dining Playbook.
